Hello, I am a retired school teacher -- and I don't miss teaching one bit. I think that 36 years of teaching Elementary School was enough. I am enjoying retirement and being able to spend time working in my garden , working on my house, and attending University of Iowa
sporting events. If you haven't guessed from the pages, I am a Hawkeye Fan.
I sometimes wonder how I had time for teaching. Now that I am retired, I can attend the afternoon Hawkeye Sporting events - baseball, softball, etc. In the Summer, taking care of the gardens and the yard is a full time job. I have 23 flower gardens in the yard that need to be planted, watered, and weeded. When I finish with them, the yard looks very nice. On nice days, I take my lunch out to the gazebo and eat outside with the cats.
We have four cats -- Missey, a red point Siamese, Maru, a chocolate tortise Siamese, Cupcake, the neighbor's black cat that adopted us, and Autumn, a calico cat that my sister bestowed upon us. Missey, Maru, and Cupcake are all about 14 years old. Maru is the queen cat, but Missey is my cat is follows me everywhere. She will ride on my shoulder while I am vacuuming the house.
If you haven't guessed from the pages, I am a Hawkeye Fan. I get excited whenever the Hawks win. Here are a couple of pictures of the pep rally after the Hawks won the 2001 Big Ten Basketball Tournament.
