Here are the basics. I was born in 1942 in Dubuque. Iowa. I had polio when I was ten years old. That was in 1952 - the same year that the polio vaccine was discovered. The family moved to the Iowa City area in 1960 where I attended The University of Iowa. I have worked as a Geologist, Chemist, School Teacher, Photographer, Electronics Designer, and am currently employed by The University of Iowa as a Computer Consultant - a position from which I will be taking early retirement on June 30, 2004. Then I will be able to pursue other interests.
I have a lot of interests including spelunking, photography, and alternative energy sources. I like Macintosh computers although I work with Wintel machines running Windows XP on a daily basis. I have learned to hate MicroSoft FrontPage as a web development tool.
